The Luck Of The Irish At Whistler Resort
Sometimes, it's not just the luck of the Irish.
If you're coming from the UK or Ireland, there are some things to think about before heading off on your big adventure.
First
off, you will need the essentials.
Decent ski gear is a must. Bring warm clothing. A hat and gloves, some waterproof shoes or
boots, a scarf and a good warm jacket. Of course you can always find
what you need in the many shops the Whistler Village has to offer.
Be
sure to get good insurance coverage if you are planning on hitting the
slopes. In the event of an accident, Mountain Rescue will take you to a
Health Clinic and they charge an obligatory $570 fee for admission. Good insurance coverage should be taken seriously.
Although there are many places to rent ski equipment, you may want to consider buying ski gear. It’s usually cheaper
to buy skis or a snowboard from the rental shop if you are staying for more than two weeks. It can cost close to the same amount to rent equipment than it does to purchase your gear outright.
