Whistler Sliding Center Passes Evaluations

Cross Country in Whistler, BC

After four days of intensive testing and evaluations, the Whistler Sliding center is ready to begin it's next phase of construction. The tests were carried out by the VANOC, FIBT and FIL organizations.

VANOC is the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and is responsible for overseeing most of the planning related to the upcoming winter games.

FIBT is the International Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Federation and FIL is the International Luge Federation. All federations involved have teamed up to ensure the new sliding center lives up to international and Olympic standards.

One of fifteen tracks worldwide, the new Whistler Sliding Center consists of a 1450m concrete track,  is not only designed for the upcoming 2010 winter games, but aims to be one more amazing feature to Whistler's world renowned sport, ski and entertainment resort.

Located in the Callaghan Valley and home to many other events such as, biathlon, ski jumping and ski trails that boast over 55 kilometers of trails, the Whistler Olympic Park stands proud among other international venues.
